CHESTER CITY OFFICIAL HANDBOOK 1998/99

Written by the Chester City club historian Chas Sumner, the 96 page fully illustrated book recalls in detail the trials and tribulations of what turned out to be one of the most difficult years in the club’s long history.

It is hoped that this will be the first of a series on annual publications which will cover the previous season as well as items of historical interest.

Included within the book are:
Month by month Kevin Ratcliffe interviews
Full match reports and statistics, with both team line-up details
Details of the Reserves and ‘A’ Team fixtures
On The Borderline updates
Sections on trivia, hat tricks, doubles
Complete player career details

On The Borderline season updates for 1997/98 and 1998/99 are available in the Handbook, copies of which are still available and can be bought direct from the author.

PRICE £6.95 (P+P £1.60)

Programme Monthly Review
“Chester City may be going through a difficult time just now, but their bibliography has never been better with the publication of CHESTER CITY OFFICIAL REVIEW OF THE SEASON 1998/99. Chas Sumner has compiled a remarkable book, beautifully produced in 100 brochure-sized glossy pages, perfect bound with a full colour card cover. Full page match reports, with accompanying statistics, photographs and programme covers, are provided for all League and Cup games, and in summary form for friendlies, reserves and youths. Each player has his career profiled and summarised and the book ends with 16 pages of historical trivia and obituaries. It is doubtful if there has been a more comprehensive or more handsome account of a clubs season....”
