First Chester match seen?
v Millwall. 24th March 1962

Best five Chester matches, and why?
1
City 6 Wrexham 1 (27/2/65) – for obvious reasons
2 Manchester United 2 City 1 (FAC3 1965) – Best, Charlton, Law, Stiles, need I say more
3 City 3 Leeds United 0 (LC4 13/11/74) – Leeds were League champions, and European Cup Finalists and had the full side out when we beat them.
4 Aston Villa 3 City 2 (LC-SF 2nd leg 22/1/75) – What a game!
5 Goats 2 City 2 (14/2/95) – Two sent off, 2-1 down, but a sterling second half miracle pulled us through. I call it our 2-2 victory.

Proudest moment following Chester?
Being asked to wear the Blue steward’s jacket on matchdays.

And the worst?
Defeat at Penrith in the Cup / Being moved to Macclesfield for two years.

If you could go back in time which Chester match would you wish to revisit or see for the first time?
Our first ever match in 1884 or the first league match in 1931.

Describe your favourite ever Chester goal?
Chester v Southport (1964-5 or 1965-6). Reeves rolls the ball out to Hauser who sets off upfield beating one, two, three men then, thirty yards out lets fly an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corner.

Which Chester game did you miss and then regret afterwards?
The five goal drubbing of Preston at Macc (League Cup 1990-91) I had diahorrea.

Which away trip have you most enjoyed?
I always like going to Hartlepool for some obscure reason, but there are too many good trips to mention.

If you could be Chester City chairman what changes would you make?
I would create our own lottery, independent of Blackpool and all other clubs connected. Look at ways to generate cash by involving local people, like offering new shares and a £50 membership fee that would guarantee tickets for any big games, discounts at the club shop and certain games, and entry to the club bar.

What do you think of the feeder club idea?
I don’t like the idea at all as we would lose our independence. But if it meant survival then we should have to go along with it.

If you could improve facilities at the Deva what would you change first?
Bigger changing rooms, supporters club, club shop. A reception area and a ticket office. Executive boxes with a restaurant. Make the main stand one of the best outside the Premier.
