First Chester match seen?
v Gillingham. 23rd Sept 1995

Best five Chester matches, and why?
1.
City 6 Doncaster 0 (8/2/97) – To see Andy Milner score one goal makes me smile. But FOUR! magic.
2. City 5 Scarborough 0 (6/4/96) – We were too hot to handle that day and played football that would have been at home in Division One.
3. City 1 Tottenham Hotspur 3 (4/9/95) – Leroy Chambers scored a goal. First and probably last time that I’ve watched a game from the away end. A bizarre feeling.
4. City 4 Darlington 1 (25/11/95) – Darlo only got beat once that season on their travels and this was it.
5. City 4 Lincoln City 1 (7/9/96) – Four great moves and four great goals.

Proudest moment following Chester?
The Middlesbrough game. To look over my shoulder and see 2500 City fans singing was jaw dropping. The atmosphere was electric and to see Chris Priest tackling Emerson and Spencer Whelan beating Ravanelli to a header – awesome!!

And the worst?
The scoreline in the above match; Kevin Noteman’s penalities; The away leg of the play-off’s at Swansea – as I sat on the coach afterwards it felt like someone had ripped out my heart.

If you could go back in time which Chester match would you wish to revisit or see for the first time?
When Chester played the Goats and managed to draw 2-2 with nine men. I can imagine the delerious state of the away faithful.

Describe your favourite ever Chester goal?
At Blackpool [11/11/95] in the FA Cup First Round. Although we lost 2-1, a long cross from the left falls on the head of Andy Milner who steers it past the keeper from the edge of the 18-yard box. Yes! an Andy Milner header.

Which Chester game did you miss and then regret afterwards?
Away to Mansfield [18/11/95] City win 4-3. I spent the afternoon watching the Teletext and listening to Radio Merseyside. We were 3-1 up before Town scored two to equaliser and then Rimmer completed his hat-trick to win a thriller.

Which away trip have you most enjoyed?
Last season’s drubbing of Exeter. 1-0 down at half-time. The lads come out and score five goals in 45 minutes. The heavens opened and the pitch turned into a green lake and the Chester fans on the uncovered terrace got a bit wet – but do you think we gave a damn?

If you could be Chester City chairman what changes would you make?
If I was chairman that would mean I had a few quid so I would buy a car and a new house. No seriously, I would involve the fans a lot more. Sell shares to fans and have more meetings with fans. I would also create a National supporters club which gives priority ticket applications and discount travel arrangements. Create free car parking and an official web page.

What do you think of the feeder club idea?
It is an awful idea. I am a fanatical City fan and I support and watch Chester City NOT Liverpool or Man City reserves which is what we would become.

If you could improve facilities at the Deva what would you change first?
Build a bigger West stand. It’s a bit comical with only six rows. A scoreboard on the away end and a bigger club shop.
