DARTS TEAM FIXTURES 2014/15 |
All
members and friends are welcome to join us on these
darts/social nights which start from 19:30hrs, matches
start at 19:45hrs and comprise of two team games, three
pairs and six singles matches.
Anyone wishing to play in the side should
email our organiser Rick
Goby. The home venue for League games is the The
Square Tavern, 26 Tolmers Street, London NW1 2PE (near
Warren Street and Euston Square underground stations).
We finished a respectable third place in Division Two
last season with 68 points to our credit and a games
difference of plus six. As always, we have a turnover
of players but we do have a number of regulars as well
who are keen to participate. The new season begins tail
end of September or early October.
There are expected to be nineteen teams again as all
have shown intention of continuing and no other teams
have come forward to join. This works out to be a 7/6/6
split across D1/D2/D3 again. Apart from ourselves, only
Gillingham who finished fourth place remain in Division
Two. Bolton Wanderers and Burnley have been promoted
whilst Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle have been relegated.
We are joined by Scunthorpe United and Ipswich Town
from Division One and also Manchester United and Sheffield
Wednesday from Division Three. There are new Darts officials
for the new season as being two players from Rotherham
United (the sausage and marmalade club) with those for
last season, Peter Reynolds of Blackpool and Tina Robertson
of Manchester City stepping down owing to commitments.
Again, we intend in participating in the League, the
Cup, the Pairs and the Solos. I cannot leave without
saying that congratulations go out to Simon Pilsbury
and Matt Maguire who took the Pairs trophy in January.
I only wish that I could have also been there to observe
our feat!
Rick Goby
