DARTS TEAM FIXTURES 2011/12
Our season was somewhat in complete contrast compared with the season before which had been an isolated case of finishing bottom of Division Three. We have had the best season since we returned to the APFSCIL Darts League about eight years ago. We appeared right from the start to be in the strongest position to win, not only promotion, but the Third Division Title as well.

We now have our largest supply of players we have known and, although many players cannot turn out for the majority of the matches, there has been a real feeling of good spirit from those taking part for every match we have encountered. We have had many inspiring results across the season and never once did we win by the narrowest margin. We were so close to winning the title, winning eight out of ten matches, that it looked as if we would finish as Champions. However, Bolton Wanderers had a late rally and pipped us by one point; 87 against our 86. Had we won one more game in our last match, then we would have won the title on games difference. Unfortunately, we could not make that final claim.

Nonetheless, we are raring to go for our Division Two escapade for the new season which is expected to begin late September or early October. The format for the League and Cup remain as last season. The AGM took place on this Monday 9th July 2012. I was unable to attend myself, although I had so planned to do until this week, owing to work commitments. The AGM was very short apparently with no new decisions other than to review the format at the next AGM.

Thanks to all our great players for their efforts over the course of the season. I will keep you posted as to when Presentation Evening takes place so that we can collect our trophies. May I just add that any new players are also welcome. Bring on the new season!
