WAYNE BROWN TESTIMONIAL DINNER

On Thursday 8th July, Wayne held his Sportsman’s evening at the Slowboat Chinese restaurant in Chester. Over 120 people packed into the restaurant to enjoy the oriental cuisine on offer not to mention sampling a few beers along the way.

Guest speakers at the event were Alex Stepney, the former Manchester United goalkeeper (a fitting choice of speaker by Wayne’s committee) and comedian Ven Tracey who kept the packed audience in stitches throughout the evening. There was also an auction of various sporting artefacts including a signed Celtic shirt from Henrick Larsson, and a signed and framed photograph of Ernie Shavers the world heavyweight boxing champ as well as a horse race and a sporting quiz.

The evening finished at midnight and was a great success. Thanks must go to Alex Stepney and Ven Tracey for their time and to all those who donated monies and items for the auction.

Extra special thanks to Osprey Windows for sponsorship of the event.

Pictures from the night.
