BOOST THE BUDGET 2

Following the success of last years’s Boost The Budget fundraising campaign, the club have announced that they will be launching Boost The Budget 2 on 21 May in an effort to provide the management with a team to secure promotion to the National League. The aim last year was £100,000, and during the pandemic Chester supporters raised beat that target to raise a massive £115,000 which went towards the playing budget that saw Chester sit in third place when the season was declared null and void in January.

Those that contributed last season will be emailed by the club to be asked if they would like to continue their donations or possibly increase their contributions. The club are working towards a new set of prizes and rewards for the scheme and details of these, and the new target figure, will no doubt be released nearer the time of the launch.

NEW AWAY SHIRT REVEALED

Following a vote
by the CFU membership, next seasons away kit will be a yellow shirt with diagonal black sash stripe that can be worn with either yellow or black shorts. The winning choice, from four available options, received 41% of the vote.

SCOUTING APPOINTMENT
Chester have appointed Neil Hart as their new Head of Scouting role, he has previously held a position as a coach at the club.

Joint Manager Anthony Johnson told the official website: “We’re delighted to be able to bring Neil back in a capacity that he excelled in when we first came to the club. He and Carl Garner worked wonders in identifying the likes of Jamie Morgan and Brad Jackson back in 2018/19.”

“His knowledge of the game is outstanding as well as playing a huge part on the coaching staff last season.”

“Neil will oversee of a group of scouts that will cover the North West and beyond as we grow our scouting knowledge and rebuild the database that has taken a hit over the last couple of season due to covid.”
