TWO MORE HOME FRIENDLIES

BLUES SIGN WINGER

Former Curzon Ashton winger Jude Oyibo has joined Chester after the 22-year-old impressed at a recent trial weekend at Deva Stadium. Manager Anthony Johnson told the Chester Chronicle: “He played last season for Curzon Ashton so has experienced this level. But, actually, the reason we have signed him is because of how well he did in the trial event.”

“I’ve been asked about that event and what success would be from it. I said as long as there was a player or two that came out of it that we could continue to scout, then it would have been a success.”

“But what has transpired is we have actually signed a player from it. A 22-year-old winger that has experience at this level…..they don’t really exist as free agents. He was wanted by his club from last season, naturally.”

“He is absolutely rapid and has really quick feet. He came on against us at the beginning of the season, when we won 2-1, and he changed the whole dynamic of the game.”

“For 20 minutes he ran us ragged. It was one of our coaches, Steve Halford, who mentioned him to us and said, ‘look, if you can get him in for the trial event, you will be shocked with his ability.”
CLARK AGREES NEW DEAL
Luke Clark is the latest player to agree a new deal at Chester. The 26-year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, played for the club for free last season, and has played for managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley before at Salford. He also has league experience with Accrington Stanley.
