Scott Burgess opened the scoring on 31 minutes with his first for the club, converting following a knock down from Dylan Mottley-Henry. The visitors equalised just before half-time through Westendorf.

The Blues doubled their lead on 62 minutes through Nathan Woodthorpe who slotted home a loose ball from close range to also score his first goal for the club.

Chester were beaten 3-0 at Chorley on Saturday. The Blues got off to the worst possible start as Jack Bainbridge was sent off after just nine minutes following a foul on Billy Whitehouse.
