PRE-SEASON ENDS IN
A DRAW
Chester completed
their pre-season preparations with a 2-2 draw in
a competitive match at Hyde United yesterday afternoon.
Lewis Earl and Kole Hall, from the penalty spot,
were on the mark for the Blues. Next up is the league
season opening game at Alfreton Town on Saturday,
kick-off 15.00hrs.

DEFENDER SIGNS ON
LOAN
Chester have signed
19-year-old left back Lewis Coulton on loan from
Preston North End until January. Lewis turned professional
last year and had a loan spell at Warrington Town
in the second half of the season.

INJURY BLOW FOR GLENDON
Captain George Glendon
is set to miss the whole season after the injury
he picked up in the first pre-season friendly at
Whitchurch Alport has turned out to be an anterior
cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. The injury will
now require surgery.
HOME VICTORY
Kurt Willoughby was
on the scoresheet again as Chester beat Atherton
Collieries 1-0 in their latest pre-season friendly.
The only goal of the game came in the 21st minute
as a Joe Lynch pass set up the striker who produced
a quality finish.

WILLOUGHBY SPOT ON
Kurt Willoughby was
on the scoresheet again notching the only goal of
the game from the penalty spot on 20 minutes, as
Chester overcame Runcorn Linnets in their latest
pre-season friendly on Saturday night.

BLUES FIGHT BACK
Chester came from
2-0 down to secure a last minute win over Stalybridge
Celtic at Bower Fold last night. The home side took
the lead through Raul Correia on 11 minutes and
doubled their advantage on 37 minutes through Ethan
Padden. Reece Daly scored his first senior goal
for the club reduce the arrears just before half-time.
Matty Williams equalised on 56 minutes and Kurt
Willoughby popped up with the winning goal from
close range in the final minute.

BLUES DRAW IN ENTERTAINING
FRIENDLY
A second half goal
from Declan Weeks brought Chester a 1-1 draw against
League One side Morecambe in their latest pre-season
friendly on Saturday. The Blues gave debuts to their
two latest signings, midfielder Alex Kenyon and
forward Kurt Willoughby. The Shrimps had taken the
lead just before the break through Ashley Hunter.
Chester created chances throughout, especially after
the break and were fully deserved of their draw.

FORWARD SIGNS
Chester have signed
forward Kurt Willoughby who scored 11 goals and
won promotion with York City last season. He has
joined the Blues on a one-year deal.
NEW DEAL WITH MBNA
The club are delighted
to announce that credit card provider MBNA have
continued their support of the club and its Community
Trust by announcing another three year sponsorship
deal with the Blues. MBNA have been backing the
club since we reformed in 2010 and this will take
their sponsorship commitment to 15 years!
Chester sent a Youth Academy
side to play North West Counties Football League
Division One North side Euxton Villa tonight and
they came away with a 0-0 draw.

FA YOUTH CUP
Chester have been
handed a home tie against Irlam in the Extra Preliminary
Round of the FA Youth Cup. The tie will take place
on Wednesday 17 August, kick-off 19.45hrs. Admission
is £3.00 adults and £1.00 for concessions
and cnder 18’s.

MIDFIELDER KENYON SIGNS
Chester manager Calum
McIntyre has continued his squad building with the
addition of Alex Kenyon on a one-year contract subject
to clearance. The 29-year-old experienced midfielder
began his career at Everton before moving on to
Chorley, Lancaster City and Stockport County. In
2013 he joined Morecambe, making 250 appearances
for Saturday’s opponents. He played last season
for Scunthorpe United and Ayr United.

THE HIPKISS STAND
The football club
have honoured two legendary volunteers with the
renaming of the Deva Stadium South Stand. Barrie
and Pam Hipkiss have given decades of dedicated
voluntary help at the football club and were rewarded
for their efforts when the stand was renamed The
Hipkiss Stand prior to the home game with Rochdale
on Saturday. Many Chester fans will have traveled
on the “Hipkiss Express” Barrie’s
organised coach travel to away games that he has
run for over 35 years! During that time, Pam has
been providing hospitality to visiting directors
and guests as well as the match officials at both
Sealand Road and Deva Stadium. Barrie was made an
Honorary Life President when the club reformed in
2010.

NARROW DEFEAT FOR CHESTER
A second half goal
from Rochdale substitute Devante Rodney was enough
to give the League Two side victory at a hot Deva
Stadium on Saturday. Chester gave a debut to new
loan goalkeeper signing Harry Tyrer who played for
the opening 75 minutes. The nearest Chester came
to drawing level was when Iwan Murray hit the bar
from six yards after meeting a Jamie Morgan cross.
Chester are back in home action again on Saturday
when League One side Morecambe bring a team to Deva
Stadium, kick-off 15.00hrs.

AWAY START FOR BLUES
Chester will kick-off
the new season on Saturday 6 August with an away
trip to Alfreton Town, this is followed seven days
later with a home match against Brackley Town. Once
again the Christmas and New Year fixtures are against
AFC Telford United. The season is completed on Saturday
29 April with a home fixture against Buxton.

PRE-SEASON UNDERWAY
Chester began their
pre-season campaign with a 2-0 victory at Whitchurch
Alport tonight. The opening goal of the game came
on the stroke of half-time with a well taken effort
from Sam Turner. Zack Clarke added a second goal
on 64 minutes.

Lynch, Weeks, Turner, Murray, Hall.
Chester (Second
half): Stanway, Morgan, Edwards, Earl,

The Blues are back in action
on Saturday when they welcome Rochdale to Deva Stadium,

TWO MORE SIGNINGS
Two players from the
Chester Academy have earned their first first-team
contracts. Goalkeeper Joe Smith and forward Sam
Turner have both been awarded one-year deals.

to Whitchurch Alport FC. Kick-off is 19.45hrs and
admission is pay on the gate. Prices: adults: £5.00,
concessions: £3.00, and under 16’s:
£1.00.

DEVA@30 EVENT
The club have announced
that they will be holding a special Deva@30 event
to celebrate 30 years of football at Deva Stadium.
This will take place from 19.30hrs on Saturday 30th
July at the Crowne Plaza in Chester. Many former
legends will be in attendance including: Stuart
Rimmer, Eddie Bishop, George Horan, Andy Milner,
Paul Carden, Michael Wilde and Neil Young.
The evening is being sponsored by MBNA and tickets
are priced at £39.00 – but if you buy
before the 4th July you’ll get your ticket
for just £35.00.
