RADCLIFFE DEFEAT
Chester opened their pre-season
campaign with a 3-1 defeat at Radcliffe on Saturday.
A number of trialist’s took part in the game
which was a good work out for the Blues against
a side playing their sixth warm-up game. Danny Elliott
scored the consolation Chester goal in the last
minute.
Manager Johnson told the Chester Chronicle: “I
was delighted to see Danny Elliott get his goal
as it is important for strikers to hit the back
of the net in pre-season going into the campaign
as it builds up the confidence.”
“He’s
off the mark, took his goal well and he can build
on that. I thought some other performances shone
through as well, George Glendon looked sharp and
John Johnston had a great game on the right hand
side.”
“We’ve got a
great squad, one we’re delighted with and
we’ll get better and better as we progress.”
