BACK TO WINNING WAYS
The Blues put Tuesday’s disappointment behind them with a 2-1 home victory over Blyth Spartans on Saturday. Another crowd of over 2,000 turned out on a baking hot day as Calum McIntyre made five changes to the side beaten by Hereford, giving a debut to Tom Sparrow.

Charlie Caton give Chester the lead ten minutes into the second half coolly beating Alex Mitchell after latching on to a Declan Weeks through ball. Six minutes from time Spartans leveled through substitute JJ Hooper and the visitors missed a golden chance to take the lead blazing over from a corner late on.

With the game entering the final minute a push on Elliott Whitehouse was spotted by referee Lee Hible who pointed to the penalty spot. Whitehouse himself stepped up to send Mitchell the wrong way and seal the three points.
