VALE DEFENDER SIGNS ON LOAN

Port Vale defender Jack Shorrock has joined Chester on loan until early December. The 18-year-old has played in both League One and League Two and is a left wing back.

CUP DEFEAT FOR YOUTH TEAM

Despite a brave effort, the youth team were beaten 2-1 at Bolton Wanderers in the first round the the FA Youth Cup last night. Luka Salvatore gave Chester an early lead, but goals either side of half-time from Tobias Ritchie and Lucas Kirkpatrick gave the young Trotters victory.

Chester: Mackin, Power, Abbott, Deakin, Dyer, Corbett, Ireland, Murphy, Kennedy, Bush, Salvatore. Subs: Carroll, Edwards, Dixon, Forbes, Belski, Robinson, Cattermole.

FA TROPHY DRAW

Chester have been drawn at home to Clitheroe in the second round of the FA Trophy. The match will take place at Deva Stadium on Saturday 15 November, kick-off 15.00hrs. Clitheroe play two divisions below the Blues and are managed by ex-Chester player Sean McConville.

HOME RUN ENDED

Chester lost their unbeaten home record on Saturday as Bedford Town claimed all three points with a 2-1 victory at a windy Deva Stadium as the two sides met for the first-ever time. The Eagles broke quickly and were on top before taking a 19th minute lead with a header from Ryan Doherty.

Bedford were reduced to ten men four minutes into the second half with Sam Brown seeing red for a late challenge on Jack Bainbridge. Despite their numerical disadvantage, they doubled their lead on 77 minutes through Tyrone Marsh.

Offrande Zanzala scored a consolation goal four minutes into stoppage time.

NEW RADCLIFFE DATE

With Chester involved in the FA Cup on the original date, the league match away at Radcliffe will now take place on Tuesday 2 December, kick-off 19.45hrs.

CHESHIRE CUP DRAW

Chester have been drawn away to Vauxhall Motors in the second round of the Cheshire Senior Cup. The game should take place in the week commencing 17 November.

THREE POINTS FROM ALFRETON
Chester picked up their first away win of the season, and their first clean sheet in the league, as a brace from Tom Peers brought a deserved victory at Alfreton Town last night. Peers opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the last minute of the opening half following a foul on Iwan Murray.

Peers added a second 17 minutes from time, sent through one-on-one his initial shot was saved by Harry Burgoyne in the Town goal but the Blues striker acted quickly to convert the rebound and wrap up the points.

CHESTER HELD BY HARRIERS

Chester had to be content with just a point following a 1-1 home draw with Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday. The visitors started the stronger team and took the lead midway through the first half through Ryley Reynolds. Dylan Mottley-Henry preserved Chester’s home record with a headed equaliser past Christian Dibble in the 73 minute.

The Blues are back in action on Tuesday night when they visit Alfreton Town, kick-off 19.45hrs.

Midfielder Scott Burgess has joined Northern Premier League side Ashton United on loan until 27 December.

YOUTH TEAM MARCH ON

The youth team beat Liversedge 4-0 last night in the Fourth Round Qualifying of the FA Youth Cup. The entertaining game was played in front of a crowd of 177 at Deva Stadium. The goals came from Zach Abbott, Luka Salvatore, Joe Ireland and Isaac Bush. The team will now travel to Bolton Wanderers in the first round proper.

Chester: Mackin, Power, Abbott, Ireland, Dyer, Deakin, Corbett, Kennedy, Murphy, Bush, Salvatore. Subs: Carroll, Radcliffe, Favager, Forbes, Belski, Dixon, Cattermole.

JIMMY ROLFE 1932-2025
Former Chester winger Jimmy Rolfe has passed away at the age of 93. Jimmy made 50 Division Three North appearances for the club between 1953 and 1955 and also played in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra and Barrow.

MIDFIELDER LEIGH SIGNS

Chester have signed midfielder Lewis Leigh on a deal until the end of the season. The 21-year-old has previously played for his home town club Preston North End, as well as Bromley and Crewe Alexandra.

BLUES BOOK TRIP TO CAMBRIDGE

Second half goals from Dylan Mottley-Henry and Jack Bainbridge gave Chester a well earned win over Morecambe in their FA Cup replay last night, their reward is a trip to Cambridge United in the first round proper, the date to be confirmed.

Chester were on the front foot right from the start and created several chances with Pat Jones forcing two early saves and Tom Peers seeing an effort crash off the crossbar. The Blues pressure finally told eleven minutes from time as the hard working Iwan Murray intercepted a loose bal on the left and turned in a near post cross that Mottley-Henry stabbed home for the deserved lead.

The victory was secured in the final minute with a stunning 25-yard strike from Bainbridge straight into the top corner of the Harry Mac goal giving Jamal Blackman no chance.

FA CUP DRAW

Following today’s draw, the winners of the Chester v Morecambe replay on Tuesday night will travel to League One side Cambridge United in the first round of the FA Cup.
SHRIMPTON STUNS SHRIMPS
A dramatic last minute equaliser from Fin Shrimpton earned Chester a replay following their 1-1 draw in the FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying at Morecambe on Saturday. The Shrimps opened the scoring midway through the first half through Gwion Edwards. Morecambe continued to create chances after the break with Jack Nolan unlucky to his the woodwork on two occasions.

With the game five minutes into stoppage time Pat Jones forced a save from Jamal Blackman, the lose ball fell to Top Peers who also saw his effort blocked but Shrimpton was on hand to score to send the 1,307 away fans behind the goal delirious.


The replay will take place on Tuesday night at Deva Stadium, kick-off 19.45hrs.

CHESHIRE CUP SUCCESS

Chester beat Alsager Town 3-1 at Deva Stadium to progress to the second round of the Cheshire Senior Cup. The team was a mix of first and youth team players with Connell Rawlinson, Luka Salvatore and Zach Abbott all finding the net in front of a crowd of 178.

Chester: Barlow, Ireland, Arthur, Rawlinson (Bush), Deakin, I.Burgess (Power), Corbett, Salvatore, Murphy, Kennedy (Belski), Abbott. Subs not used: Davies, Dixon.

BLUES LOSE TWO GOAL LEAD

Chester squandered a two goal lead as they drew 2-2 with Merthyr Town at Deva Stadium on Saturday. The Blues got off to the perfect start with Offrande Zanzala slotting them ahead after just six minutes. The lead was doubled on 39 minutes as Merthyr's Tom Handley. put into his own net following a long Nathan Woodthorpe throw in.

On the stroke of half time Dylan Mottley-Henry was brought down in the box, referee Alexander Beckett pointed to the spot but forward Pat Jones saw his spot kick saved low down by Jaimie Cogman.

The Blues were made to rue that penalty miss as Handley made amends for his earlier own goal when he pulled a goal back for the visitors on 57 minutes. The visitors sensed chance and went close to an equaliser on several occasions, as the game entered the 90th minute it duly arrived as Cole Jarvis beat George Murray-Jones from a narrow angle at the near post.

STUNNING VICTORY FOR YOUTH TEAM

Luka Salvatore scored four goals as the youth team beat Rochdale 11-0 in front of 196 at Deva Stadium last night to reach the Third Round Qualifying of the FA Youth Cup. Their reward is a home tie against Liversedge in the next round.

Chester: Cal Mackin, Kian Power, Zach Abbott, Joe Ireland, Sammy Dyer, Lewis Corbett, Harry Deakin, Dan Kennedy, Connor Murphy, Ollie Cattermole, Isaac Bush.
